The Department of Reparative History is an on-going installation and publishing project. It is a lamentation for the early losses suffered as a result of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The legions of creative gay men who were among the first, dramatically impacted communities taken by the disease in the 1980s and 90s is a devastation beyond fathoming.

The facts and evidence of the chronological and physical narratives surrounding HIV/AIDS are documented. Yet, there is something unnamed and untold that exists outside of our conscious awareness. Mining ephemeral reports, cultural detritus and the clues that exist in the culture at large, The Department of Reparative History seeks to honor, mourn, and attempt to hear a signal in the ether from lost mentors. It is a contemplation of what might have been.
